Jamaican black castor oil and certified organic shea butter do the conditioning, and there is peppermint oil in there too, which gives the scalp a cool tingle as you work it in. On damaged or chemically treated hair the difference shows at the ends, where split ends look less obvious once the cuticle is smoothed down.

Application tips
Damp is the word, not wet and not dry. Hair that is dripping will not hold onto it, and dry hair will drink it and still feel rough.
Two pumps for shoulder length, four if your hair is dense and past that. Get it on before anything else in your routine, then wait a minute or two before layering a styler on top of it.
Results
A comb moves instead of catching, which is where most of the damage was happening. Lengths feel softer and stretch further before they give. Frizz stays down through a set or a wash day style, and the ends look tidier because the cuticle is lying flat.
