The lather is deliberately low. A big foaming shampoo strips the oils a wash-and-go depends on, so this one is sulfate-free and cleans on a thin lather instead, leaving the curl pattern with something to work with.
Coconut milk and plant peptides bring the protein side, coconut oil and kokum butter the moisture. The protein is what makes it feel different from a plain moisturising shampoo. Hair comes out with a bit more structure to it, which helps a wash-and-go hold its shape rather than collapsing as it dries.

Application tips
A low-lather formula needs water to spread at all, so soak the hair right through first. A ten pence blob is plenty for one pass, worked in with the pads of your fingers rather than your nails.
If you have been layering butters all week, rinse and repeat once. Follow with the matching conditioner while the hair is still soaking, and do not let it dry in between.
Results
Hair comes out clean but not stripped, with none of the tightness a foaming wash leaves behind. The cuticle feels smoother under your fingers, so combing takes less effort. There is a bit of body to the strand afterwards, and curls hold shape further into the drying.
