Salicylic acid at 3% is the listed active ingredient, there to loosen and lift flakes from the scalp. Around it sit apple cider vinegar for clarifying and pH balance, certified organic shea butter for moisture, plus glycerin, niacinamide, rosemary extract and gotu kola extract. The texture is light and non-greasy, so hair is not left weighed down.

How to use it
Shake the bottle well. Apply to a wet or dry scalp, guiding the tip onto the skin and working from the front hairline backwards until the whole scalp is covered. Massage in with your fingertips and leave it in place. Use one to four times a day, or as directed by a doctor.

Application tips
Work on a dry or barely damp scalp so it lands on skin rather than being diluted. Part in rows, squeeze a line along each one, then spread it with your fingertips across the whole scalp instead of concentrating it in one place.
Two or three applications a week is plenty to begin with. Keep it off the lengths, wash your hands afterwards, and leave it to do its work.
