A prewash mask is the step most routines skip, and on thick curly to coily hair it is the one that makes the rest of wash day easier. It goes on before the shampoo, so hair is already conditioned and detangled by the time anything cleansing touches it.
SHAZ & KIKS build theirs around a blend of more than thirty-five nutrients, aimed at the scalp and the strands together. The texture is rich but it moves through curls rather than sitting on them, and there is enough slip to work through knots before washing rather than fighting them afterwards. It is colour-safe, so it will not shift a recent dye job.
Apply to a dry or damp scalp and lengths, massaging from the roots down to the ends, then wash as usual. 230ml. Best on dense curls and coils, and particularly useful under protective styles or in humid weather.

Application tips
Dry hair, before the shower, is the easiest way to do it. Part into four and work it into the scalp with your fingertips, then pull the rest down through the lengths.
Knots come apart now, while the slip is on, rather than after shampoo. Give it as long as you have. Shampoo afterwards, twice if the hair feels coated, then condition as normal.
Results
Wash day gets shorter, which is the honest measure of a prewash. Detangling happens before the shampoo instead of after it, so less hair comes out in the comb.
Curls hold their bounce through the wash rather than losing it and needing to be rebuilt with product. The scalp feels comfortable rather than tight, and a recent colour stays where it was.
