Activated charcoal is the interesting part of this one. It has a large surface area, which is why it turns up in clarifying products. It gives oil and residue something to bind to so they rinse away instead of redepositing.
The rest of the formula stops that cleanse from going too far. Castor oil and certified organic olive oil condition while it washes, peppermint oil gives a cool finish and takes the edge off the feel of a dry scalp, and the base is sulphate-free. 12oz, and it detangles well enough that a comb goes through afterwards.

Application tips
Soak the hair through before any shampoo goes near it, then work a palmful into the scalp with your fingertips in small circles.
Most of the cleaning happens at the roots; the lengths get cleaned by what runs down them. Rinse until the water is clear. A second wash earns its place after heavy pomade or a month of buildup, and follow with a conditioner either way.
Results
The scalp comes out genuinely clean without the tight, squeaky finish a sulphate wash leaves behind, and the peppermint gives a cool tingle while it is on.
Hair does not go stiff or straw like afterwards, which is the usual trade with a deep cleansing shampoo.
Curls detangle more easily and the moisture balance holds, so a conditioner has less work to do.
