Safah's version is pressed from Ethiopian Nigella sativa seeds. Thymoquinone and the essential fatty acids in the seed are what the oil is known for, and this one has been blended so it goes onto the scalp and lengths without further dilution.
Most people use it once or twice a week before shampooing, massaged into the scalp in sections and left for half an hour. It conditions the lengths properly and adds slip where hair tends to snap during combing. Every texture can use it, a little goes further than you expect, and the scent fades once the hair is washed and dry. Keep it in a dark cupboard rather than on a sunny windowsill.

Application tips
Warm it slightly first. Black seed oil thickens in a cold bathroom and a warmed bottle spreads with half the effort.
Apply to the scalp with the bottle tip rather than pouring into a palm, so less is wasted. If the smell bothers you, add a few drops of a citrus or mint oil to the bottle. Wash it out with a gentle shampoo rather than a clarifying one.
Results
The smell is the first thing and the softness is the second. Hair that has been through a treatment combs out with far less resistance, and the sections that usually snap at the mid-length hold together.
The scalp feels settled rather than tight. Nothing is left greasy after a wash, and the peppery note disappears entirely once the hair is dry.
