If you already make up your own pre-wash oil blends, eucalyptus is one of the sharper notes you can add to them. Safah's version is distilled from Eucalyptus globulus and bottled with nothing else in it.
Undiluted essential oil is too strong for direct scalp use, so build it into a carrier. A few drops per tablespoon is a sensible starting point.

Application tips
Never straight onto skin. Build it into whatever carrier you already use, coconut, olive or almond, and keep the ratio low the first time so you learn how your scalp reacts.
Stir rather than shake. Once mixed, part the hair and apply along the scalp, then leave it under a cap for half an hour before shampooing. Two washes will be needed to clear a heavier carrier.
Results
Cold and camphorous on the scalp, and it announces itself the moment the bottle opens. Diluted into a treatment it leaves the skin feeling clear and comfortable rather than tight, and the smell lifts off within an hour or two of washing.
It also does useful work in a blend, sharpening a heavy carrier oil that would otherwise smell of nothing. Fifteen millilitres goes a very long way.
