Neat essential oil is the most concentrated way to work rosemary into a routine, and it is also the one that needs the most care. This 15 ml bottle holds a single ingredient with nothing else added, which means it has to be diluted before it touches the scalp.
The contents are pure Rosmarinus Officinalis leaf oil, free from fillers and synthetic fragrance. Diluted into a carrier such as jojoba, argan, coconut or castor oil, a few drops go a long way.

How to use it
Dilute two to five drops in one to two tablespoons of carrier oil. Massage into the scalp in circles for five to ten minutes, then leave for at least thirty minutes, or overnight under a cap. Wash out with a mild shampoo. Two to three applications a week is the usual rhythm. Patch test first, and store the bottle somewhere cool and dark.

Application tips
Never neat, and never near the eyes.
The simplest route is a few drops into the shampoo or conditioner already sitting in your hand, rather than mixing a whole bottle, which keeps the dose consistent and the product stable. Patch test on the inner arm a day before it goes anywhere near your scalp. Two or three sessions a week is plenty; more does not make it work harder.
Results
Diluted and massaged in, it leaves the scalp feeling clean and cool rather than coated, and the herbaceous scent hangs around for a few hours. Through the lengths it adds a light conditioning effect without weight. Because there is nothing else in the bottle, the strength is entirely down to how far you dilute it, which is the argument for a pure oil over a ready made blend.
