Batana oil, also sold as ojon oil, comes from La Moskitia in Honduras and has been used on hair there for generations. Cold-pressing keeps the omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, the vitamin E and the antioxidants that heat extraction would degrade, which is what separates a proper batana from a pale, cheap one.
It is a rich, heavy oil, so it belongs on hair that is dry, damaged or coarse rather than fine and limp. Work a small amount through the scalp and lengths and leave it on before washing. Suits 2a through 4a, with the strongest results on the drier end of that range.
