The D1500 folds down and weighs very little, which is the whole argument for owning one. Behind that is a 1400W motor, enough to dry hair rather than warm it, plus two heat and speed settings and a concentrator nozzle for directing air where you want it. Two settings gives you more control than most compact dryers bother with, so you can drop the heat for finer hair.
For gym bags, weekends away and small bathrooms where a full size dryer is a nuisance to store. Remington have kept enough power in it that you still get a smooth, tidy finish rather than a rough one, which is where most travel dryers fall down. It will not replace a full size dryer on very dense hair, but as a second dryer that lives in a bag it does what it needs to.

Application tips
Rough dry first with the nozzle off, hands moving through the hair, until it is mostly dry.
Then fit the concentrator and point it down the hair shaft rather than across it, which is what keeps the cuticle from roughing up. Lower setting for fine hair or for the last few minutes, higher for shifting the bulk of the water. Fold the handle away only once the barrel has cooled.
Results
Hair dries at a sensible speed for something this size, and the finish comes out tidy rather than fluffy, which is where compact dryers usually give themselves away.
The nozzle gives enough directional control to smooth a fringe or set a parting.
On thick or very long hair it will take longer than a full size dryer, so pack it for the trip rather than the everyday.
