It starts as a thick creme and turns to a liquid butter as you work it through, which is what lets a mask this rich spread evenly instead of sitting in clumps on whichever section got there first.
What is doing the work:

That protein and butter combination is why it defines as well as conditions. Pure moisture masks leave curls soft but shapeless; the rice protein gives the pattern something to hold onto.
Use it after a gentle cleanse, on towel-dried hair, from the mid-lengths down. Leave it a few minutes, rinse, then style as normal. The 5 oz size goes further than it looks, because none of it is going on the roots. Vegan and cruelty-free.

Application tips
Cleanse first, then squeeze out as much water as the hair will give up. Take it through in four sections, ears down, with a wide-tooth comb behind your fingers so nothing underneath gets missed.
Leave it on while you finish in the shower. Rinse until the hair feels clean rather than slippery.
Once a week suits most hair, twice if it is very dry.
Results
Curls come out soft with the pattern still intact, which is the trick with a mask this rich. Ends look less rough and split, and the hair takes a comb without snagging.
There is enough conditioning in it that a leave-in afterwards can be lighter than usual, or skipped altogether if your hair sits on the finer side.
