Application tips
Heat is what turns a decent deep conditioner into a good one. Once it is on, cover the hair with a plastic cap and either sit under a dryer for fifteen minutes or wrap a towel straight out of a warm cycle.
Without heat, give it longer instead. Rinse cool at the end. If your hair has recently been coloured or relaxed, this is the wash-day step worth prioritising above everything else.
Results
Over-processed lengths come out with some spring in them, bending under tension instead of parting at the first pull.
Softness is immediate and it holds across the week rather than a day. Combing is quieter, splits go no further than they already have, and hair that had been stuck at one length starts keeping what it grows. Thick and coily textures gain most, being the most fragile when dry.
