Application tips
Lather it and then leave it, because a toning shampoo needs contact time to do anything at all. Work it through wet hair, concentrating on the areas that go warm first, usually the crown and the front.
A minute or two is a sensible starting point. Rinse, then judge from the mirror whether to go longer next time. Porous hair grabs pigment fast, so build up gradually.
Results
Yellow and brassy casts drop out, and the hair reads cooler and cleaner rather than obviously tinted. On white and grey hair the shift is towards brightness instead of that dull ivory look.
Since it conditions as it tones, hair does not come out feeling parched, which is the usual complaint about toning shampoos. Shine improves, and the cool tone survives longer between washes.
