Hair bath is the salon word for shampoo, and OWAY uses it because this one behaves less like a detergent than most. It is made for naturally curly hair and for permed textures, type 2 through type 4, where the risk with any wash is that the curl pattern comes out flattened and the hair feels stripped.
It cleanses properly, lifting product build-up and oil, but leaves enough conditioning behind that curls stay springy rather than squeaking. Frizz tends to sit down instead of lifting after a wash, and definition holds better into the styling stage.

Wet the hair, massage through the scalp and lengths, then rinse well so nothing is left sitting in the curl. Follow with an OWAY conditioner or leave-in to hold the moisture in.

Application tips
Soak the hair properly first. A curly wash goes wrong when the water has not got through the top layer, so spend longer than feels necessary before any product touches it.
Use a small amount at the scalp, massage with fingertips rather than nails, and let the runoff do the lengths. Rinse it right out, twice if the hair still feels coated. Once or twice a week is plenty.
Results
Wet hair should still feel slippery once it is rinsed rather than stripped back to a squeak, and that is the tell that this one is behaving. Curls keep their weight. Nothing lifts at the crown as it dries the way it does after a harsh detergent wash. On permed hair the pattern comes out looking like the pattern rather than a flattened version of it.
