This is a finisher, so it goes on last, after the style is already set. It does one thing: gloss. A light film over the cuticle makes hair reflect light instead of absorbing it, and flattens the fine flyaways sitting proud of the surface.
Use less than feels right. A small amount smoothed over the palms and pressed onto the lengths and ends will do a whole head, and the 125ml bottle will last months at that rate. Going in heavy at the roots is how a shine product turns into a grease slick.
It works across straight, wavy and curly hair. On curls, press it onto the outside of a set style rather than raking it through. On dark hair the effect is obvious immediately; on lighter or highlighted hair it reads more as smoothness than shine.
