That flexibility comes from the base. Behentrimonium methosulfate and cetearyl alcohol give it the slip that makes detangling quick, canola oil softens without much weight, and the whole thing is light enough that it does not build up when you leave it in day after day.
As a rinse-out, work it through freshly shampooed hair, leave it ten to fifteen minutes and rinse. As a leave-in, skip the rinse and go straight into styling on damp hair. Application tips
Decide which way you are using it before you start. Rinsed out, apply it thickly, detangle in sections with a wide-tooth comb, then wash it away and style on damp hair. Left in, use half as much and comb it through the ends only.
Either way, work from the bottom of each section upwards so knots come apart instead of gathering.
Results
The slip is the thing that matters here. Knots that used to take ten minutes and a lot of complaining come apart in a couple of passes.
Curls dry soft and defined, with enough moisture to last the day at school. Left in, it gives a light hold that keeps the shape without stiffness; rinsed out, it leaves the hair clean-feeling and ready for a cream or gel.
