Curls that have gone limp and dull are usually carrying product rather than losing their pattern. Gels, creams, oils and dry shampoo stack up in layers, and a co-wash will not shift any of it.
This shampoo cleanses further than a co-wash without taking the hair down to bare. It clears the residue that leaves curls flat, and proteins in the formula pick up where the cleansing stops, firming the strand so it breaks less through the mid-lengths. That is where fine or chemically treated hair tends to snap first, well above the ends everybody blames.
On hair that feels weak and lifeless rather than simply dry, the order matters. Clear it first, strengthen it second. Doing it the other way round seals the build-up in underneath.
Work it in two rounds: a first lather to lift the surface residue, a second to actually reach the scalp. It lathers economically, so the 385ml bottle goes further than the number suggests. Treat it as a reset wash every few weeks rather than the default every time, and follow it with a proper conditioner.
