Olive Moisture Curl Defining Detangling Shampoo Defines Curls & Detangles for Curly & Wavy Hair 16 oz
Detangling is the part of wash day that costs curly hair the most, because knots are where breakage happens. A shampoo that leaves slip in the hair while it is still wet does more for length retention than most of the products that come after it.
That is the job here. Olive oil sits at the centre of the formula, cleansing without pulling the hair dry, so knots loosen under your fingers in the shower rather than under a comb afterwards. Frizz settles, and the curl pattern comes back in clumps rather than in a cloud. It works across curly, coily and wavy textures, though the difference is most obvious on hair that usually needs a separate detangler to survive a wash. The bottle holds 16 oz.
Worth having if your wash day currently involves conditioner just to get through the comb.

Application tips
Soak the hair first, properly, before any shampoo goes near it. Curly hair repels water at the start of a wash and half-wet hair takes twice the product.
Work the lather at the scalp only, in small circles, and let it slide down the lengths when you rinse. Fingers or a wide-tooth comb can go through while the hair is still slippery. Rinse until it stops feeling soapy.
Results
Curls come out of the shower already grouped into clumps rather than one sheet of frizz, which makes whatever you style with afterwards work better.
The hair is not squeaky. There is enough left on the strand to comb through without a fight, and the pattern reads clearly once it dries. A 16 oz bottle is a lot of wash days, so it earns its place if it suits you.
Composition
- Olive Oil
- An old-school emollient that softens the strand so curls detangle without tearing
