Olaplex No.3 works on the part of the hair you cannot see. Bleach, permanent colour, perms, relaxers and hot tools all break disulfide bonds inside the strand. Those bonds are the structure. Once enough of them go, hair turns dry, dull and quick to snap.
The Hair Perfector uses that patented bond building chemistry to repair them. It behaves like a treatment rather than a conditioner, so do not judge it on how thick it feels coming out of the bottle. What changes is elasticity: hair that bends further before it gives way.

Application tips
This goes on before you wash, not after. Work it into dry hair with your hands, enough that the lengths feel properly coated, then comb it down so the ends get their share.
Leave it in while you get on with something else, then shampoo it out and condition as normal. Rinsing it off early is the usual mistake. Build the wash around it rather than squeezing it in.
Results
Elasticity is what to watch. Hair that had begun giving way part-way down the shaft starts to stretch instead, and you feel that in the comb long before you see it in the mirror.
Across a run of treatments the ends stop feeling papery, styling pulls less out, and colour-worn lengths behave more like hair that has never been through the process.
