Scalp care is where this size makes sense. 500ml is more than you need for the lengths alone, but if you oil your scalp weekly, or do pre-wash treatments on long or dense hair, it goes down faster than you would think.
Niharti press theirs from organic coconuts and leave it unrefined, so nothing has been heat-treated out of it. Lauric acid is the part that does the work on hair. It binds to hair proteins and goes into the strand, which is what makes coconut oil better at reducing breakage than an oil that only coats.
On the scalp it takes the tightness out of skin that has gone dry. On the hair it softens, conditions and holds shine. Warm a little between your palms, part the hair in sections and work it along the scalp, then take what is left through the lengths. 500ml.

Application tips
Section the hair into four or six before you start, since scalp oiling done properly takes ten minutes and hair in the way doubles it.
Melt a spoonful, run it along each parting with the fingertips, then take the rest from mid-length to ends. An hour is good, overnight is better.
Two shampoos to remove it. At this size it is worth decanting a smaller jar for the bathroom.
Results
Washing does less damage to the hair, so the ends stay intact for longer and the hemline holds. Dry scalp skin stops feeling tight after the first couple of treatments.
The lengths come out softer, darker looking and with a proper shine, and the softness is still there two or three days later.
