Medium is the size most people should start with. It covers ground faster than a small sponge and still gives you the control a large one loses around the hairline and the nape. The palm shape means pressure comes from a flat hand, which is what keeps coils consistent from the front of the head to the back.
Use it on damp hair with a light cream or gel already worked through. Small circular motions, light pressure, and stop before the coils start to fluff. It suits short to medium natural hair on men and women, and it is a much faster route to defined twists than doing them by hand section by section.
