MopTop Curly Hair Gel Custard – Lightweight Moisturizing Curl Definer (Citrus Kumquat, 16oz)
Curl types from 2A loose waves through to 4C coils are all in scope here, which is unusual for a single styler. The Custard manages it by keeping the hold flexible and the weight low, so looser patterns are not flattened and tighter ones still get definition.
It is a moisturising curl definer rather than a hard-setting gel. Hydration and hold arrive together, frizz drops, and the hair stays soft to the touch. The scent is citrus kumquat, light enough not to fight with anything else in your routine.
- Hydrates while it shapes and defines
- Reduces frizz without leaving a stiff cast
- Free from parabens, sulfates, silicones, phthalates and synthetic dyes
- 16oz bottle
Junk-free is the brand's own phrase for the formula, and in practice it means the ingredient list is short enough to read on the bottle. That matters if you have been eliminating things one at a time to work out what your hair reacts to.
Apply evenly to sectioned wet hair from roots to tips, then scrunch as it dries. Sixteen ounces lasts a long time on anything shorter than shoulder length.
We list the full INCI where the brand supplies it. For this one it is not on file yet, so the pack is the reliable source. If you need to check an ingredient before you buy, message us and we will read it off the bottle.

Application tips
Custard is thicker than a gel and thinner than a cream, which means it wants plenty of water underneath it. Work on hair that is still dripping.
Emulsify a palmful, rake it through a section, then press down the length with flat palms and scrunch at the end. Clip the roots if you want lift. Air dry or diffuse without touching, then break the cast when it is bone dry.
Results
Curls set into clean, separated clumps that hold their shape without going hard. Once the cast is scrunched out the hair is soft and moves properly.
Moisture is part of the deal here, so it does not dry the hair out the way a firm hold gel can. Frizz stays flat, definition runs into a second day, and the citrus scent fades off rather than lingering.
