A co-wash is the middle ground between washing and doing nothing. It cleans off the sweat and the product without the surfactants that strip a curly texture, so you can use it between shampoos and keep the moisture you built up.
Coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba, abyssinian and marula seed oils sit in it with silk amino acids and vitamin E. It stays light, and it is gentle enough for daily use if that is your routine.

Application tips
Use twice as much as you would shampoo and take twice as long over it. Section the hair wet, massage each quarter at the root with your fingertips for thirty seconds, then squeeze the rest down the length.
Finger-detangle while it is still on. Rinse for longer than feels necessary, since a conditioning wash left sitting at the roots turns into build-up.
Results
The hair is clean but never squeaky, and it leaves the shower already soft enough to comb, which is not true of most washes. Knots are fewer and looser. Frizz is under control before you have applied anything else, and the moisture you built up on wash day is still in the hair rather than down the drain.
