Frizz is usually a moisture problem wearing a texture disguise. Mielle's Avocado & Tamanu shampoo goes at it from that angle, replacing moisture while it clears the hair back to a clean slate. Avocado oil is the anti-frizz ingredient and tamanu seed oil works on the scalp. Turmeric root extract appears further down the list. What is left out matters too: no silicones, sulfates, parabens, paraffins, mineral oil or DEA, and no animal test ingredients.

Application tips
This is the reset wash, so give it two passes. The first lather lifts whatever is sitting on the hair, the second actually cleans the scalp.
Massage with fingertips in sections, concentrating at the roots and letting the suds run down. Rinse until the water runs clear, then move straight to the leave-in while the hair is still soaking.
Results
Hair comes out genuinely clean, with the film from old stylers gone, not half dissolved, and it never feels stripped afterwards. Moisture stays put, so the lengths stay soft right through the rinse. Mostly what it does is give the next two layers a flat surface to sit on, and frizz-prone texture behaves better across the whole styling sequence as a result.
