Mazuri Shea Butter Naturals Fresh Start Conditioner: Nourishing & Detangling for Natural Hair 355ml/12 oz
Wash day falls apart at the detangle.
Knots in coily hair do not loosen with water alone, and pulling at them dry is where most of the breakage comes from. A conditioner earns its place by making that step shorter and less violent.
This one is thick and creamy, built on shea butter and a blend of natural oils. It is a slippery formula rather than a light one, so fingers or a wide-tooth comb move through a section instead of catching. 355ml.
- Puts moisture back into dry, thirsty textured hair
- Gives enough slip for finger detangling
- Cuts down the snagging and pulling that causes breakage
- Leaves curls softer and easier to handle afterwards
Aimed squarely at type 3b through 4c hair, and useful on any texture that stays dry between washes. It sits in the routine as the rinse-out step, after shampoo and before whatever you style with.

Application tips
Squeeze the hair out first so the conditioner is not competing with water. Four sections, clipped, and a palmful in each one. Smooth it down the length before you go anywhere near a knot, then start at the very ends and work upward an inch at a time.
Ten minutes under a cap if the hair is thirsty. Rinse cool, and leave a trace behind on the ends rather than stripping it all out.
Results
Knots let go instead of holding on, and the difference shows in what is left in the plughole afterwards.
Hair feels coated in a good way while it is wet, then soft and weighty once dry. Curl clumps stay together through the rinse. Anything applied on top, a leave in or a gel, spreads further because the hair underneath is already smooth.
Composition
- Shea Butter
- Thick, buttery base giving fingers enough grip to move through knots
