Fresh Start is the shampoo end of the Shea Butter Naturals range, for the weeks when a co-wash is not enough and the hair needs a proper reset. It is sulphate-free, which sounds contradictory for a reset shampoo until you use it. The formula removes product buildup and the film that leave-ins and gels leave behind, but does it without the stripping feel that sends dry hair straight back into a moisture deficit. Shea butter is in there for that reason, keeping the hair supple through the cleanse.

Application tips
Start with the hair thoroughly wet, then work the shampoo into the scalp only. Build up sits at the root, and the lengths get cleaned well enough by whatever runs down them.
Two rounds if it has been a fortnight, one if you wash weekly. Rinse thoroughly, then get a conditioner onto the lengths straight away rather than leaving them bare while you finish showering.
Results
Product build up comes off and hair that had gone limp and coated feels like itself again.
Because there are no sulphates in it, the cleanse happens without the squeaky, tight feeling that leaves textured hair frizzing an hour later.
