The Deep Moisturizing version of the Mane 'n Tail formula comes in a 355ml / 12 oz bottle and trades some of the original's cleansing power for conditioning agents. It still washes the scalp properly. It just leaves more behind on the lengths, so the hair comes out soft rather than squeaking.

Curl types 2a through 4a suit it well. If your hair is very dry, follow with the matching conditioner and keep the shampoo at the scalp only, letting the suds rinse through the ends on their way out.

Application tips
Wet the hair thoroughly first. Dry patches take more product than they need and lather badly.
Work a palmful into the scalp in small circles, then let the run-off do the lengths. Rinse, and only repeat if your hair still feels coated. Follow with a conditioner every time, because a moisturising shampoo still opens the cuticle and something has to close it again.
Results
Hair rinses out soft rather than stripped, and it stays workable while wet instead of turning to straw the moment the water stops.
Brittle lengths look less dusty after a few washes and take conditioner more evenly. It lathers moderately rather than lavishly, which is what you want on hair that is already fragile. The scent is light and does not linger past drying.
