If your routine already has too many bottles in it, a 200ml/6.76 oz bottle of cold-pressed olive oil quietly replaces three of them. It is a pre-wash treatment, a body oil and a sealing step, and it does not need to be anything cleverer than that.
Olive oil is a heavy, familiar emollient with vitamin E in it, and heaviness is the point rather than a flaw. On skin it restores softness and elasticity to areas that have gone dry and papery. On hair it is best used before you wash, worked through the lengths and left for half an hour, so the shampoo has something to lift away rather than stripping bare strands.
Suits waves through to 4a. Coarser, drier textures can use it as a sealing oil after a leave-in; finer waves should keep it strictly to pre-wash duty, because it will flatten a fresh wash-and-go.

Application tips
Decant a little into a small dish and warm it between your palms. Straight from the 200ml bottle it pours faster than you want and you will use double what you need.
Clip the hair into four and take it down mid-length to ends, twisting each section as you go. A shower cap over the top stops it transferring to your collar. Expect to shampoo twice afterwards to clear it fully.
Results
On the body it takes the papery look off shins and forearms and leaves a warm sheen rather than a wet one.
In the hair, the difference shows up after you wash rather than before. Strands come out softer, the comb meets less resistance, and the ends look less frayed at the edges. The scent is faintly green and food-like, and it fades as the hair dries.
