Petroleum jelly does one thing and does it completely. It forms a barrier that water cannot get through. Everything else is a matter of what has been blended into it.
The Mamado version carries aloe vera and vitamin E. It goes on skin and hair, and the format means a little covers a lot, so it lasts far longer than the jar suggests.

Warm a small amount between your fingers first. On hair, keep it to the ends and the surface. On skin, apply it over a moisturiser rather than instead of one, since jelly holds water in but does not put any there.

Application tips
A thin smear goes a long way. Warm a small amount between the fingertips until it turns clear, then press it onto the driest spots: heels, elbows, knuckles, lips, the skin around the nostrils in winter.
On hair, keep it to the very ends, or to the edges if you are laying them. It is occlusive, so it goes on over a water based product rather than instead of one.
Results
Whatever moisture is under it stays under it. That is the job of an occlusive, and it is why cracked heels and wind burnt cheeks respond to it when a lotion alone does nothing.
Aloe and vitamin E take the edge off the texture, so skin comes out comfortable rather than tight, and the barrier holds through hand washing far better than a cream would.
