Papaya oil does something slightly different from the rest of the range. Papain, the enzyme in papaya, gives it a mild exfoliating action alongside the moisture, so it softens the surface of the skin as well as hydrating it.
That makes it a reasonable choice for dull, uneven skin, where a plain moisturiser will not shift the roughness on its own. It is gentle, and the exfoliation happens without any scrubbing, which suits skin that reacts badly to grains and brushes.

Application tips
Cleanse, leave the skin damp, then press three or four drops in with the palms rather than rubbing them around. Give it a couple of minutes before anything else.
Start at three nights a week and build from there. Because there is an enzyme in it, stacking it with an acid on the same evening is usually more than the skin wants. Keep the bottle out of direct light.
Results
The surface smooths out. Rough, uneven patches loosen on their own, and dull skin starts to look clearer after a fortnight rather than overnight.
It moisturises while that happens, which is the difference between this and an exfoliant. Skin that cannot cope with a scrub or a face brush generally gets on with it, since nothing abrasive is involved.
