Extra dark means the castor beans were roasted longer before pressing, which is what produces the deep colour, the higher alkalinity and the thicker feel. Mamado make theirs the traditional way: roast the beans, boil them, press the oil.
Castor oil at this strength carries omega-9 fatty acids, minerals and vitamin E, and it is thick enough to stay exactly where you put it. On hair that means sealing moisture into dry, coarse lengths and giving enough slip that detangling stops costing you ends. On the scalp it conditions and takes the tightness out of dry skin. It works on the body too, on the patches ordinary lotion never quite fixes.

Application tips
Decant a little into a small bowl and stand that in hot water for a minute, which loosens it far more than rubbing between the palms will.
Apply to the scalp in four or six partings, then take whatever is left through the ends. It is heavy, so a fifty pence sized amount covers a full head. Leave it under a cap overnight and shampoo twice in the morning.
Results
Dry, coarse lengths hold their moisture for days instead of hours, and the ends stop looking thirsty within a couple of applications.
Combing gets easier, which is where the real benefit sits. Fewer strands lost per session means the length you have grown stays attached. On the scalp the tight, dry feeling eases, and the same bottle handles the patches on elbows and knees that lotion never quite sorts out.
