Avocado oil sits at the rich end of the range.
It is thicker than grapeseed or apricot kernel, and it is the one to reach for when skin has gone past dry and into flaky. Cold pressed to keep the nutrients intact, it carries vitamins E, A and D along with omega fatty acids. It penetrates rather than resting on the surface, and it leaves a barrier behind that holds moisture in, which is what parched skin actually needs. It is gentle and non irritating, so sensitive skin generally takes it well.
Because it is heavy, it suits evening use, and it suits elbows, knees and heels more than a morning face routine. On hair it works as a pre wash treatment on coarse or dry textures. The bottle holds 150ml/5.07 oz.

Application tips
Body first. A generous pour into wet skin at the end of a bath, worked in while the water is still on it, then blot rather than towel off. Knees, elbows and heels take a second pass.
For hair, section coarse or dry lengths and coat them from mid shaft down an hour before shampooing. Two washes will be needed. On the face, one drop mixed into a night cream is usually plenty.
Results
Flaking stops. Skin that had gone past dry into rough comes back to something supple within a week, and the film it forms is what stops moisture heading straight back out.
On coarse hair it does the same thing before a wash, softening the shaft so the shampoo does less damage on the way through. Rich, slow and better suited to the end of the day than the start of one.
