Amla is the Indian gooseberry, and it has been in Ayurvedic beauty routines for centuries. Mamado cold press theirs, which keeps the vitamin C, antioxidants and fatty acids intact in a way heat extraction does not.

Application tips
Warm a tablespoon in the palms and apply in four sections, working from the parting outwards with the pads of the fingers rather than the nails. Twist each section up and clip it before moving on.
Cover with a cap. Two shampoos will be needed to clear it, so plan it for a wash day rather than a work morning. The smell goes with the shampoo.
Results
Brittle hair feels less like straw and more like hair. The cuticle lies flatter, which shows up as shine, and there is noticeably less snapping when a comb goes through afterwards.
Used on skin it is a proper moisturiser, deep rather than quick. Vitamin C and the fatty acids are what Mamado point to, and both survive because the oil is pressed cold rather than heated.
