Mamado extract it from Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis with a gentle cold press, so the vitamin E, fatty acids and antioxidants stay in the finished oil. Almond oil is the reliable middle option: light enough to absorb quickly and stay out of the pores, rich enough to handle genuinely dry skin. It works as a body moisturiser, a face oil for dry or sensitive skin, a massage oil and a hair treatment, which is why one bottle tends to end up in three different rooms of the house rather than staying put on a shelf.

Application tips
For a pre wash treatment, pour a palmful, rub the hands together and go through the hair in sections from the ears down. Twenty minutes is enough on fine hair. Leave it longer on coarse or very dry lengths.
As a body oil it wants damp skin straight out of the bath, one long sweep per limb. For massage, stand the bottle in a basin of hot water first so it is not cold going on.
Results
Dry lengths soften and the comb moves through without catching, so fewer ends snap on wash day and the hair holds its length better over months.
On skin it absorbs at a sensible pace, leaving softness rather than shine, and it is mild enough that reactive skin generally tolerates it. Contains almond, so it is one to avoid with a nut allergy.
