Application tips
Twist the section before you tie it. The twist gives the band more to grip and stops the tail working loose by mid-morning. Three wraps rather than two.
For a bun, go twice around the base and tuck the ends under on the final pass. Undo it by unwinding in the direction you wound it on.
Results
A tail tied at eight is still tied at six, and nothing has to be redone on the train. Nothing works its way down the back of the head either.
Fine strands come through the day without the small breakages that show up later as short flyaways around the parting. With eight in the pack, one is always to hand.
