The reason to own shower caps has less to do with washing than with humidity. Steam in a closed bathroom will lift a smooth blow-dry or swell a set of curls out of shape long before any water touches your head.

  • Keeps hair dry and frizz-free through showers and baths
  • Traps warmth over a hair mask so it works harder
  • Eight per pack, enough for a couple of months of treatments
  • Light, durable and easy to pack

These form an actual seal against it. Water, steam and damp air stay outside, so a style you spent time on survives a shower and a stretched blow-dry lasts the week it should.

The second use is deep conditioning. Pull one over your mask, leave it the recommended time, and the product stays warm and wet instead of drying out on the hair.

Application tips

Put it on before the water goes on, not once the room has already filled with steam. Two hands, band opened wide, front hairline first, then walk it back until the whole nape is under.

Run a finger round the edge to find any gap at the temples. Afterwards, turn it inside out over a radiator for ten minutes and it packs flat into a case for the next trip.

Results

Straight hair keeps its fall, curls keep their clumps, and neither swells the way they do in a bathroom full of steam. Day four hair stays day four hair.

Used over a mask it behaves differently, holding everything damp and warm so the conditioner is still soft and slippy right through to the rinse. Two jobs from the same eight caps.
