Fine toothed combs are precision tools. They are for parting, sectioning and getting a style to sit exactly where you want it, and they are the wrong choice for taking a knot out of dense wet hair.
The 2452 is a standard styling comb in a heat resistant plastic, so it can sit near a dryer or an iron without warping. The teeth are cut clean and rounded at the tips, which is what stops a comb scoring a line down the strand. Used on hair that has already been detangled, it gives you sharp partings, tidy sections and enough control to place a wave or a set curl.
The spine is thick enough to stay flat when you push it against a section, which is the difference between a parting you can follow and one that wanders halfway across the crown.
Any texture, though coily hair should meet a wide toothed comb or a set of fingers first. Wet or dry.

Application tips
Detangle with fingers or a wide-tooth comb before this one goes near the hair.
Then use the tail or the spine to draw partings, pressing the edge down and pulling in one continuous line rather than sawing back and forth. Comb in short sections, from the ends upwards. It will sit near a dryer or beside the irons without warping, but do not rest it against a hot plate.
Results
Partings come out straight and stay visible while you work, which is what makes a braid pattern or a set of foils look deliberate.
Fine teeth give enough control to set a curl down in one precise spot, and the rounded tips travel along the strand instead of scoring it. On detangled hair it glides. On a knotted section it will fight you, so do that part first.
