The round palm brush is the one people find most natural to hold, because the head follows the shape of your hand and you can turn it as you move over the curve of the head. Medium bristles keep it usable on more or less any texture. Firm enough to lay a wave pattern, soft enough not to leave the scalp sore after a long session. Because there is no handle, the pressure comes from the heel of your palm, and you will find you naturally lighten up near the hairline, which is where you want to be lighter anyway.

Application tips
Hold it in the palm with the fingers curled over the back and let the wrist do the turning as you follow the curve of the head.
Brush damp or dry, always in the direction the hair should lie, and ease off as you approach the hairline. Sides and back first, top last. Every few weeks, pull the shed hair out of the bed and wash it with a little shampoo.
Results
A pattern lies down evenly, without the flat, over-brushed look a hard brush can leave. Surface frizz settles and the top layer looks tidier.
It feels like a massage rather than a scraping, so a long session stays comfortable. On short and medium lengths it carries the whole routine. Dense heads will still want something harder doing the heavy work.
