This is a French mesh net, which is finer and stronger than the cheap ones and, crucially, close to invisible over dark hair.

Application tips
Build the bun first and pin it properly, because a net holds strays rather than holding the shape itself. Open the net with both thumbs, drop it over the bun, and work the edge under the base all the way round.
Two or three grips through the net edge into the bun will keep it there through a shift. Take the grips out before the net, or you will tear it.
Results
A finished bun stays finished. Loose ends stay tucked, the surface stays smooth, and the shape at the end of a long shift matches the one you left the house with.
Fine mesh over dark hair effectively disappears at any normal distance, so the hold costs you nothing in how the style looks. Light enough to leave the shape of the bun alone.
