A loc needle does one job. It pulls loose hair back into the loc so new growth locks in with the rest instead of frizzing out around the root.

This is the single needle version and it handles the routine work: root maintenance on established locs, tidying loose hairs along the length, repairs where a loc has thinned or split. The tip is shaped to slide through without snagging, and that is the difference between tightening a loc and tearing it.

Frequency is the part people get wrong more often than technique. Leaving too long between sessions means more loose hair to work back in at once, and that is when the pulling starts.

Interlocking and crochet methods both work with it, whether you are starting locs from scratch or maintaining someone else's.

Go slow. Pulling too tight at the root is what causes trouble over time, not the needle itself.

Application tips

Take a single loc, thread the tip of the new growth through the eye and draw it back through the base, turning a quarter each time so the root tightens on every side.

Damp hair works better than dry or soaking. Four passes per loc is the usual pattern. Work in rows so you can see what is done, and stop when the roots start feeling tender rather than pushing through a whole head in one sitting.

Results

Threading the new growth into the loc itself tightens the root without twisting product around it, so the base holds without relying on gel and without needing redoing every three weeks.

Loose hairs along a mature loc can be fed back the same way, which tidies fraying without cutting anything. Neat roots, contained lengths, and longer gaps between maintenance sessions.

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
