The 7719CVD has the handle of a wave brush and the curved bed shared across the rest of the CVD range, so you get leverage at the back of the head and contact all the way round the sides. The bristles are soft enough for daily sessions without leaving the scalp raw, and they are still aligned tightly enough to lay hair in one direction rather than push it about.
As the hair grows and the pattern deepens, most people move to a medium or hard brush and keep this one for finishing. That is the normal progression, not a fault in the brush.

Application tips
Early weeks, keep the sessions short. Five minutes morning and night, working in the same order, is plenty while the hair is still cropped and the skin is adjusting to a daily habit.
Hold the handle low and let the curve find the head before you push. Cover the hair straight afterwards with a durag or a cap, because an uncovered brush-out undoes itself inside a couple of hours.
Results
Soft bristles will still lay hair down. They do it with less bite, which is what a scalp needs when brushing has only recently become part of the routine.
Expect a smoother surface and a visible direction to the hair rather than a deep pattern in week one. Depth comes later, and this brush stays useful afterwards as the one you finish with.
