Heat is the difference between a deep conditioner sitting on your hair and a deep conditioner getting into it. Salons use steamers and hooded dryers for exactly that reason, and a heat-process cap is the domestic version of the same idea.

You put your mask or oil on, pull the cap over the top and let the warmth build. The cuticle lifts slightly, the product moves in rather than staying on the surface, and the treatment you already paid for does what the tub said it would.

Hair comes out softer, and over time elasticity improves, which shows up as less breakage at the comb. Nothing about it is complicated, and that is the appeal.

Use it with whichever mask you already own. Worth having if you deep condition regularly and have never quite been convinced the results justified the twenty minutes.

Application tips

Work your treatment through damp hair in sections, from the ends upwards, combing it so nothing sits in clumps. Gather the length loosely on top of your head, then bring the cap down over it from the front.

Twenty minutes is a reasonable minimum, longer if the tub says so. Rinse cool afterwards. There is no point putting it over a dry, barely coated head, since the warmth has nothing to drive in.

Results

Warmth changes how much of a treatment ends up inside the hair rather than sitting on it. Same tub of conditioner, same twenty minutes, and the strands come out softer with far less resistance at the ends.

Over a run of wash days that shows as less snapping when you detangle, and a bit more give in the hair before it lets go.

Composition

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
