Lavender is here to make the oil pleasant to use. Roasted Jamaican black castor oil has a strong, smoky, unmistakably earthy smell, and a lavender blend takes most of that away without changing what the castor oil does.
What it does is condition. JBCO carries omega-9 fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin E, and it is thick enough to work into the scalp properly and seal the lengths afterwards. Dry, tight scalps settle down. Rough, brittle ends soften and stop snapping at the same rate. The lavender changes nothing about that. It is there for the person applying the oil rather than for the hair.
The bottle holds 118ml/3.99 oz. Massage it into a sectioned scalp, take the remainder down the hair, then leave it in or wash it out depending on how heavy your hair likes to feel. Type 3b to 4c.

Application tips
Best done on a night when you are not going out. Part the hair in rows an inch apart, run the nozzle along each parting, then massage for a few minutes with flat fingertips.
Take whatever is left on your hands down the ends and tie a scarf over it. Wash it out in the morning if your hair holds oil, or leave it if your hair drinks it.
Results
The scalp stops feeling tight and stays comfortable for days at a time. Ends soften and darken slightly, and hair that was leaving broken pieces on the comb settles down over a few weeks.
The lavender is the obvious difference from the plain version. It smells like a bath oil rather than a bonfire, which makes it far easier to wear overnight.
