Extra Dark is Kuza's most concentrated castor oil. The beans go through a longer traditional roast before pressing, which darkens the oil, thickens it and makes it more alkaline than the standard version.
In practice that means it stays on the hair longer and works into the scalp more readily. It is rich in ricinoleic acid, the fatty acid castor oil is known for, and it conditions the scalp while sealing moisture into dry, coarse or damaged lengths. Breakage drops once hair is properly coated, and less breakage is how most people hold on to length over a year.
The bottle is 118ml/3.99 oz. Warm it first, apply in sections, and give the scalp a full minute of massage. Best on type 3b to 4c. Fine hair will find it too heavy for daily use, though it still works as a weekly pre wash soak.
