Keracare Intensive Restorative Masque 8 oz / 237 ml - For Damaged, Dry & Weakened Hair
Damage is a strength problem before it is a shine problem. Hair that has been lightened, relaxed or heat styled loses its elasticity first, and only then starts snapping when you brush it.
This masque is Keracare's answer to that. The brand quotes a 42% strengthening figure against damaged hair, and the formula leans on fruit extracts to bring back some bounce and flexibility, so the strand bends under a comb instead of breaking. The tub holds 8 oz.
Softness and shine follow, but the elasticity is the part doing the real work, and it is the part you notice a week later when there is less broken hair collecting in the sink. Compromised hair does not recover in one wash; what it does is stop getting worse, and then slowly start holding together.
Use it on damp hair after shampoo, leave it the few minutes it needs, then rinse. Every wash if your hair is badly compromised, otherwise once a fortnight is plenty. Suits type 2 waves through to type 3c curls that have been through chemical or heat processing.

Application tips
Shampoo first, then squeeze the water out until the hair stops dripping. A treatment cannot get into a strand that is already full of water.
Work it through the mid lengths and ends in four or five sections, comb it down with your fingers, then clip it up. Warmth helps, so a towel or a cap over the top is worth the trouble. Rinse thoroughly.
Results
Combing is where you notice it. The strand gives a little instead of pinging apart, and the ends stop feeling like straw halfway down.
Hair reads softer and catches more light, though the shine arrives as a side effect, not the aim. Badly over processed lengths take a few rounds before they behave, so judge it across a month.
