A dry scalp gets tight and uncomfortable, and most hair oils sit on the hair rather than reaching it. A glossifier is designed to be parted into and applied directly to the scalp, which is the difference that matters here. It behaves the same on natural, relaxed or braided hair, 2a through 3c.
The emollients in it condition the scalp and settle that tight, dry feeling, while the hair picks up a light sheen along the way. Used regularly it keeps the scalp comfortable between washes, which is useful during winter, under a protective style, or on any stretch where you are washing less often.

Application tips
Rows are the method. Part from the forehead to the nape, apply along the exposed line, then move the parting across two fingers' width and do it again until the whole head is covered.
Massage until you can no longer feel it sitting on the skin. Twice a week suits most heads, more if you are washing less often or wearing a style that stays in for weeks.
Results
Comfort is the outcome you can actually measure. A scalp that had been pulling and dry settles down, and stays that way across the days between washes rather than for an hour after application.
Braids, cornrows and twists are where it earns most, since the skin is on show and there is no other way to get product to it. Winter is the other time. Hair gains a soft gloss as a by product.
