Cleansing a dry scalp is a balancing act, because the wash that shifts flakes is usually the one that leaves the scalp tighter than before. This Keracare shampoo is built around that problem, pairing the cleanse with enough moisturisers that hair does not come out squeaky and stripped.
Ammonium laureth and lauryl sulfates do the cleansing, softened by cocamidopropyl betaine and cocamide DEA. Menthol is what gives the cool feel on the scalp. Polyquaternium-28 and glycol stearate handle conditioning and cut interfibre friction, which is why hair combs through afterwards instead of knotting. The rest is a long botanical list including rosemary leaf, chamomile, calendula, arnica, ivy, burdock root and lime flower extracts.

How to use it
Wet hair through with warm water, then work a generous amount into the scalp with your fingertips, concentrating on the driest and itchiest patches. Rinse fully. Wash a second time if there is heavy build-up. Follow with the matching Dry and Itchy Scalp conditioner.

Application tips
Wet through, then apply straight to the scalp rather than piling it on the lengths and hoping it works its way down. Fingertips, not nails, in slow circles across the whole head. Two minutes.
Rinse, then judge whether a second wash is needed by how the scalp feels rather than by habit. Conditioner afterwards, on the lengths at minimum.
