A jelly is the middle ground between a gel and a cream. It has more grip than a cream and more give than a gel, and this is the Curl Essence take on that format, in a 333 ml bottle.
Castor and coconut oil sit in the formula, so definition arrives with moisture attached rather than in spite of it. It dries down without flaking and without the chalky residue jellies sometimes leave on darker hair.

Apply to wet hair in sections, smooth or scrunch depending on the shape you want, then leave it to dry undisturbed. Best on 2a to 3b hair that wants defined clumps with movement in them, and it layers happily over a leave in if your hair runs dry.

Application tips
Soaking wet is the state you want. Rake it in with your fingers until every strand is coated, then decide the shape: cup and press upward for tight clumps, or glide flat palms down the length for something smoother and looser.
Then hands off entirely. Touching a jelly while it dries is what makes the frizz you were trying to avoid.
Results
It sets with real grip. There is a light cast as it dries, and scrunching that out leaves clumps that keep their shape without going brittle.
Nothing chalky shows up on darker hair, which is where cheaper jellies give themselves away. A humid afternoon does not undo it. Come the next wash it lifts off cleanly instead of adding to a layer.
