Application tips
Wet the hair right down to the scalp before any shampoo goes on, and work in four sections held with clips so nothing tangles back into itself.
Fingertips at the roots, then squeeze the lather down the lengths rather than piling the hair on top of the head. Rinse each section separately. That last part is what stops knots forming while you wash.
Results
Hair comes out of the wash comb ready rather than knotted into a mat, which is the difference between five minutes of detangling and half an hour.
Moisture stays in the strand, so coils feel soft rather than squeaky and stripped. The scalp is properly clean underneath. Styling straight after is realistic, since the hair has not roughed up during the wash.
