Application tips
Order matters here: this goes on before water and before shampoo.
Work it into dry or barely damp hair in four sections, concentrating on the tangled ends, and leave it for ten minutes or so while you run the bath. Separate the knots with fingers first, then a wide tooth comb from the tips upward. Shampoo afterwards as normal.
Results
Knots that used to take an age and a lot of complaining come apart in a fraction of the time. Far fewer strands end up in the comb, which is where most of a child's breakage happens.
Hair goes into the shampoo already soft, so it leaves the wash less tangled than it went in. Wash day gets quieter, which is the real selling point.
